Yesterday, my husband and I went to Tioga Falls to enjoy a hike. When we got there we learned it was a muddy mess. On our small walk we came to an old rusty train trestle. I was excited because I was able to get some pretty neat shots of the rust up close. I am beginning to think that these up close shots are pretty cool with all the textures and designs you can find. It was also a good trip for finding symmetry. Overall the trip was muddy, but I had fun with the rust.

Cane Break in Gurley, Alabama
My dad :) |
This past weekend I went home to Gurley, Alabama to visit with my parents. During our trip, my dad took my husband and me to a cane break. There were hundreds of cane stalks. While there my dad showed me how to underexpose and overexpose a photograph. While messing with the exposure I was still messing with how to set up a photograph. I was excited about some of the photos turned out. It was a fun experience. The best part was is that my dad had to wait on Brandon and I while we were taking photos…do you know how many hours I have waited on my father taking pictures growing up?!

The Conservatory in Cinncinati, Ohio
While I was visiting the conservatory with my husband and his family, I thought I would mess around with depth of field. While looking at these pictures I took (and ruling out many more) I feel I have a better understanding of the time I should take to experiment with depth of field to get what I want out of the picture.
